INTRODUCTION

The common feature of all of the above is the impact on patients’ quality of life. Current treatment options focus on antidiarrheal and pain relievers, treating symptoms individually.

SEDOASPIS is a product with a blend of ingredients, which help to manage the non-motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. It is based on metabiotics that act on the gut-brain axis, improving both gastrointestinal disorders and the general quality of life of patients with Parkinson’s disease.

A key ingredient with a beneficial effect on the intestine is the metabiotic butyric acid, which improves intestinal motility, relieving constipation, abdominal pain, bloating and contributes to normal function of the intestine. Butyric acid is produced during the fermentation of food in the gut by probiotics.

In addition, Sedoaspis includes ingredients with antioxidant and antidepressant effects. The main antioxidant component is the saffron (Crocus Sativus L.) stigmas, a plant with a long history and use. Saffron stigmas (the bioactive part of the plant) have a high bioactive character, with the most important being the antioxidant. Studies have shown the antidepressant effect of saffron, its contribution to improving sleep quality and reducing stress. Saffron stigmas combined with vitamin B6 regulate and maintain levels of neurotransmitters such as serotonin and help maintain a good mood. Lastly, Sedoaspis contains ingredients with anti-inflammatory action, as well as vitamin D3 which covers the daily needs of patients with Parkinson’s disease.
